Pitched and wrote articles related to aviation, health care, and disability issues. Published articles in The Atlantic, Chicken Soup for the Soul, The Doctor T. J. Eckleburg Review and other publications. Author of a memoir called "How Not to Fly an Airplane: A Female Pilot's Journey" by Apprentice House Press May 2025. Provided expert commentary for WMUR News 9 NH on aviation-related topics. Guest speaker at a FAA sponsored human factors conference Dallas, TX. Presenter at The MOTH Boston, MA. 

2012-2017

Pilot/Human Factors Specialist, Solidus Technical Solutions 

Contracted to a Department of Defense research and development center affiliated with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Co-authored numerous reports on the integration of unmanned aircraft into the national airspace system, pilot training for aircraft loss of control, and required time of arrival operations. Participated in operational evaluation of a next generation airborne collision avoidance system (ACAS X) including collecting pilot acceptability data during airborne flight testing. Designed and implemented a study on aeronautical charts for the FAA Human Factors Division.

2002-2012

Associate Professor of Aeronautical Science, Daniel Webster College

Taught flight operations and air traffic management courses to students pursuing careers as pilots, air traffic controllers or aviation managers.  Developed curriculum for flight training device that replicated the flight characteristics of a Boeing 737.  Acted as an advisor to students. Directed and helped develop curriculum for an online MBA for aviation professionals. Taught all courses in the flight operations undergraduate major and was a flight instructor in all seven of the college’s aviation fleet including the CAP10B, Grob 109B, Cessna-172, Cessna Crusader, Mooney M20J, Piper Seminole and Piper Arrow.
